Passing through Pliego and at the foot of la Umbría de Sierra Espuña, we find Casas Nuevas, 18 kilometres from Mula. It has 152 inhabitants more or less. This villaje emerged in the XIX century, it was a cultivated area in the XVII and XVIII centuries because of the water coming from the Sierra.
It is a transit point for hikers and mountaineers since the Nature classroom is very near and from there different paths open.
Its local festivals are from 12 to 15 in August in honour of “ La Purísima Concepción”.
