Drummer Monument

The Night of the Drums, which is celebrated every Holy Tuesday, has become the most emblematic festival of Mula. In this way it is understood that in a privileged place of the City Hall as it is next to the Clock Tower, another element essential since it is who gives way to the touch of the drum, was placed in 2000 the Monument to the Drummer realized by the Valencian sculptor Rafael Pi Belda. In it are represented two drummers playing a “pangana”, moment in which one in front of the other redouble their drums making bracken the skins.

Observations

One of the drummers carries a broken brick in memory of the earthquake that occurred in Mula in 1999, when the monument was to be installed, but was postponed to the year 2000.
